About this place

In 1898, on his way back to China from Burma, Master Xian Hui and others stopped by Singapore and was invited by Low Kim Pong to build a monastery on 38 acres of land. Accepting the generous land offer, they embarked on a 11-year journey to build Shuanglin Monastery, which eventually became one of the most magnificent forest monasteries in Singapore.
